I struggled with how to title this post. Do I call it ‘dog poo bag holder’, ‘dog waste bag dispenser’, ‘pet waste bag holder’, or something else entirely? I decided there was no point in trying to fancy it up. It is for dogs, and it dispenses bags used to pick up the poo. Using different words to describe it would not change the fact that we are picking up dog poo. 🙂
This pattern is easily adjustable if you need it to be larger or smaller. Just chain more (or less) on the foundation row to increase (or decrease) the width. And if you want it to be ‘taller’, just add more rows.
Row 1: Foundation Row: ch 15, pick up loops in back loop of each ch, RP
Row 2 – 16: TSS to end, RP
Row 17 FORWARD: Pick up loops in 6 sts (7 loops on hook), ss 3 sts, pick up loops in remainder of sts in row.
Row 17 RETURN: Return as you normally would up to the slip stitches, then ch 2, then complete the rest of the return pass as normal.
Row 18: TSS as normal, and when you reach the chains, pull up a loop in each chain, and continue to finish the forward pass, RP.
Row 19 – 23: TSS to end, RP
Row 24: ss across to finish.
You should have something that looks like this:
Next, we will use a single crochet stitch around the piece to create an edge and also to create the pocket.
Fold the bottom up to create the pocket and line up the edges.
SC (single crochet) around the entire piece, crocheting the sides to create the pocket.
